Money Mentors at North Warwickshire Citizens Advice Bureau

Molly O'Herlihy

I joined Citizens Advice and the Breakthrough project at the beginning of 2021. I have had experience working on a similar community-based project supporting young people. This led to my previous employment in pastoral support within a vocational college, working with vulnerable students and external agencies. Working as a Money Mentor I find is a very rewarding role, helping people who are wanting to move forward in their journey. This could be into education, training, or employment. By offering a holistic approach toward building self-confidence, raising self-esteem can empower clients to achieve their own goals.

Jolene Morrow

I joined Citizens Advice and the Breakthrough project after 24 years of working in the Finance Industry.  My previous work within the Corporate and Retail banking sectors focused predominantly on providing the best possible support and service to our clients, helping them grow successful businesses and assisting with general banking. Working in Citizens Advice and on the Breakthrough project allows me to use my experiences. I find it really rewarding helping and supporting people in my local community. Especially when clients are able to find the confidence within themselves, to make individual changes or decisions, no matter how big or small, to move a step forward.

What People Say...

Having been made redundant after a work-related injury, my Money Mentor helped me to thin out unnecessary out-goings.  She gave me lots of practical advice and was an anchor during a time of uncertainty.  I’m still not back at work but I have a better outlook for the future because of my money mentor and Breakthrough.  I hope this project will continue for future clients as my initial hurdle of finding myself unemployed was eased.
