Coventry Citizens Advice

Money Mentors at Coventry CA

Bridie Hernon

I joined the Breakthrough team in September 2020 and have previously worked with the Big Difference Scheme at Coventry Citizens Advice as well as ongoing volunteering for the charity Mind. The thing I am enjoying the most about my role as a Money Mentor is being able to support clients through each stage of their journey and seeing the impact such a wonderful project is making to their lives.

Alicia Pates

I have worked for the Citizen Advice for over 7 years in different roles and have just joined the Breakthrough project as a Money Mentor after nearly 3 years on the Help to Claim project, supporting client’s with Universal Credit. What appealed to me about the Breakthrough project was the ability to help someone in all aspects of their lives, to get clients out of the vicious cycle of hardship. I mostly look forward to seeing client’s progression in their mental wellbeing, confidence and integration into society.

Nikki Grant

I joined Citizens Advice in 2021 as a help to claim officer where I helped clients apply for universal credit. I also volunteer within Coventry Citizens Advice as a well-being champion to help promote and improve the wellbeing of staff. I recently joined the Breakthrough Project as a Money Mentor and I'm very much looking forward to supporting clients on a one-to-one basis throughout their journey and seeing the positive changes I have helped to bring to their lives. I thrive on helping people so this role will be highly rewarding.

What People Say...

I have enjoyed the Breakthrough programme it was very beneficial.

The fantastic sessions I have had with my Money Mentor were amazingly eye opening on how to deal with my debt, energy suppliers, job hunting and more.  I have gone back to work, paid off all my credit cards and overdrafts.  I am much happier.
