Money Mentors at Bedworth & Nuneaton CAB
I started employment with Citizens Advice in 2008 under the financial inclusion fund I worked as a debt caseworker/adviser for over 12yrs, and have a good knowledge and understanding in all aspects of debt work including insolvency advice. I have been on various other projects mostly around debt, financial capability, budgeting as well as working at various outposts. My current role is a Money Mentor under the Breakthrough Programme I have been on this project for 2.5yrs, I support the participant in moving into Education & Training, Job Searching and gainful employment.
I have been a Money Mentor on the Breakthrough Programme in September 2016, I have had varied roles at the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) since joining them in 2008. Starting off as a volunteer generalist adviser; then moving onto part-time admin staff and then part-time debt adviser eventually taking the role of full-time debt adviser. I have enjoyed my time the CAB, helping clients with their issues which are challenging for them. I work with a great bunch of people, who are always willing to help you.
I have been a Money Mentor on the Breakthrough Programme since September 2016. I have been involved with Citizens Advice for over 20 years, initially working as a volunteer generalist adviser which led on to finding paid employment within the service, working in various roles including debt advice and financial capability, before joining Breakthrough. Working with people in my local community is so rewarding, especially when you see them making achievements and reaching their goals.
I joined the team in September 2021, before this I spent four years with the DWP as a debt adviser. I have an extensive knowledge surrounding benefits and debt recovery. I decided to join the Breakthrough Project as a change in pace to my previous role as I want to give back and help people in my local community in any way that I can. I look forward to meeting you and hope to make a difference.
